The 86th Geneva International Motor Show is in the starting blocks!

For the 86th Geneva International Motor Show the New Year is off to a great start: The 106,000 square metres of exhibition space are already completely booked. In addition there will be a half dozen new exhibitors and several who will be returning after a few years’ absence to share the spotlight. All the large manufacturers will be there, plus numerous smaller constructors of high performance vehicles and the most famous designers, all of whom have scheduled conferences to launch their latest creations. The Motor Show opened its on-line entry ticket sales early last December to enable the public to give Motor Show tickets as Christmas presents.

At the moment when all eyes are turned toward the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the Geneva International Motor Show, its European counterpart, is preparing for its opening, with every single space in the six car exhibition halls at Palexpo now reserved. A half dozen new exhibitors will be there, including Arash, a small constructor of exclusive sports cars, BeeBee and Rimac Automobili, both constructors of electric vehicles yet in different segments, Caractere Automobile, a specialist in the preparation of VW and Audi models, and Sin Cars, a builder of “Supercars”. In addition, Spyker, who build hand-made sports cars, will be returning after a few years’ absence.

The organisers of the Motor Show will be coordinating the programme of more than 65 press conferences which will take place during the first of two Press Days. The number of hundred new models and premiers will once again be far exceeded.

Since December 1, 2015, it has been possible to purchase entry tickets on-line directly from the Motor Show’s official website, www.salon-auto.ch. The advanced sales start has been a great success, with more than 5’500 tickets already sold without any special promotions.
